Methyl Ethyl Ketoxime (MEKO) is an organic compound used in the paint industry as an anti-skinning agent. Alkyd enamels and oil-based paints are prone to oxidation upon contact with air in the container, leading to the formation of a solid skin on the surface during storage. Adding a small amount of MEKO (0.1-0.3%) blocks oxidative polymerization inside the can, keeping the paint liquid. When applied to a surface, MEKO evaporates quickly without hindering the normal drying process of the film. The product is a high-purity (99.5%) clear colorless liquid. It does not alter the color of light enamels and does not affect the gloss of the coating. Compatible with all types of driers.
