Monoethylene Glycol (MEG) is the simplest diol, appearing as a clear, colorless, slightly viscous, and combustible liquid. MEG is the primary raw material for the production of non-freezing cooling liquids (antifreeze, coolants) and heat transfer fluids for heating and HVAC systems. Aqueous solutions of ethylene glycol do not freeze at low temperatures and do not expand upon solidification, protecting pipes from bursting. The second major application is the production of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), used to make plastic bottles, fibers, and films. MEG is also used as a solvent for paints, in polyurethane production, and for explosives. The product is hygroscopic and toxic if ingested. We supply premium grade MEG, compliant with international standards, in drums and bulk tankers.
