Cocamide DEA (CDE)

Cocamide DEA (CDE) is a non-ionic surfactant derived from coconut oil fatty acids and diethanolamine. In the detergent industry, it is highly valued primarily as an effective viscosity builder (thickener) and foam stabilizer. Adding CDE to SLES-based formulations creates a thick product with dense, long-lasting foam that does not collapse easily. Furthermore, Cocamide DEA enhances the cleaning efficiency of the mixture by helping to emulsify oils and dirt, and it acts as a fixative for fragrances on skin and hair. It also possesses anti-corrosive properties, protecting metal packaging. Due to its superfatting properties, it helps counteract the drying effect of anionic surfactants. It is widely used in shampoos, liquid soaps, shower gels, dishwashing liquids, and industrial cleaning agents.
