DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate) Plasticizer

Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) is a low-viscosity plasticizer appearing as a colorless, oily liquid. It finds extensive application in the paint and coating industry for plasticizing nitrocellulose lacquers, epoxy resins, and PVC compounds. DBP imparts elasticity, impact resistance, and cold tolerance to coatings. Unlike DOP, it offers better compatibility with certain resin types and ensures faster gelling. It is frequently used in the rubber industry to facilitate the processing of rubber mixes. Additionally, it serves as a plasticizer for polyvinyl acetate dispersions (PVA glues) and in the production of artificial leather. Due to its higher volatility compared to DOP, its use in long-life PVC products is limited, but it remains indispensable in lacquers and coatings.
