Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC) is a water-soluble polymer specifically designed as a thickener and rheology modifier for water-based paints and latex emulsions. HEC imparts pseudoplasticity to the paint: viscosity decreases during application (roller or brush) for easy spreading, and recovers afterward to prevent sagging. The product ensures excellent storage stability, preventing pigment settling and separation. HEC is biostable (resistant to enzymatic attack) and compatible with a wide range of binders (acrylic, vinyl acetate). It also improves water retention and pigment color development. Additionally used in household chemicals, cosmetics, and oil drilling as a mud thickener. Dissolves easily in water when proper mixing techniques are followed.
